Association of South Bay Plastic Surgeons
Our mission at the Association of South Bay Plastic Surgeons is to provide our patients from Manhattan Beach and Long Beach superior plastic surgery results through top-quality procedures and patient care. Our three plastic surgeons are board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and specialize in a wide range of cosmetic and reconstructive procedures. The practice also offers a full line of medical spa services to keep you looking young and fresh.
Because each patient is unique, our goal is to create individualized surgical plans for our patients by addressing all of their concerns personally and striving to exceed expectations by integrating the latest in technological advances with a high level of training and experience.
Three Board-Certified Plastic Surgeons
All of our plastic surgeons are certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and are active members of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. They have been highly trained in their field and have the experience to create pleasing results.
- Dr. Charles W. Spenler is board certified in General Surgery, Emergency Medicine, and Plastic Surgery. He received his medical degree from the University of Iowa School of Medicine and specializes in ultrasonic liposuction, breast surgery, and body contouring after massive weight loss.
- Dr. Lisa L. Jewell is a board certified plastic surgeon who performs a broad spectrum of aesthetic and reconstructive procedures in Long Beach and Santa Monica. She earned her medical degree from the University of Wisconsin Medical School in Madison and completed her residency training in General Surgery and Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Southern California. Although she enjoys all areas of plastic surgery, her area of interest is reconstructive and cosmetic breast surgery.
- Dr. Michael K. Newman is a board-certified Long Beach area plastic surgeon who received his medical degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and then spent six years at the Medical College of Virginia completing residencies in General and Plastic Surgery. He now performs a wide array of cosmetic and reconstructive surgery procedures with a special emphasis on minimally invasive facial rejuvenation.
Long Beach Breast Enlargement and Other Breast Enhancements
Some women are fortunate enough to have breasts that are the right size, shape, and position to flatter their natural curves perfectly, but unfortunately this is not always the case. Breast Augmentation

I wanted to let you know how excited I am about my upcoming blue peel. Although, the prepping has been tough at times, my skin has never looked better. At my mother's birthday party last week, everyone was asking me what I use on my skin. I gave them the number to your office and told them to ask about the Obagi Nu-Derm products. For approximately the past three years I have been receiving Botox Cosmetic at a well known medical group. I have a personal relationship with the medical director at this group and this director has been administering my Botox every three months, never quite receiving the results I was looking for.
One evening about one year ago, I came to the Personal Image Center. I met with Leslie Fletcher for a consultation, at which time I decided to have Leslie try administering my Botox. Wow, what a difference! My goals for using Botox Cosmetic are to create a brow lift, to give an arch to the brow, as well as to lift to my droopy/heavy eyelids. Leslie was able to give the results I have been looking for. The positive effects from this injection lasted around six months, almost twice as long as the other office.
However, I felt an allegiance to my previous medical group, so I continued to receive Botox Cosmetic with them. Hoping they would be at some point able to give me the same effect that Leslie had. I noticed however, that the injection sites were completely different from where Leslie had administered them. Needless to say, I have never been able to get the same results as Leslie created. So, after a three year relationship with the previous medical group, I have now decided to come back to the Personal Image Center, to have Leslie Fletcher administer my Botox Cosmetic.
The effects you can create with Botox are only as good as the qualified professional administering it. I would like to thank Leslie Fletcher for her professionalism and expertise.
