Rhinoplasty can refine the look or reduce the size of the nose. It can also improve breathing problems. Dr. Smith has extensive experience in rhinoplasty for all age groups, including teenagers (once the nose has finished growing).
If the issues with your nose are not purely cosmetic, nose surgery may be covered by insurance. Some plans will cover all or a part of the cost if reconstruction is required or if breathing difficulties are being corrected. If your surgery is not covered, Dr. Smith's practice offers affordable financing options.
During surgery, two approaches may be used. In the closed approach, the incisions are placed inside the nose and no scars are visible An open rhinoplasty requires a small incision across the columella, the strip of skin that separates the nostrils. A small scar will be visible for a few months after surgery.
Recovery from nose surgery usually takes one to two weeks. Most people are back to work within a week or two.
